Plates in Situ series

Plate in Situ is an ongoing series of web based photographs documenting in-field installations of metal print matrices at selected sites.

These sites are a metaphor for me to explore and reflect upon our relationship to nature and to each other, our connectedness and disconnectedness; a 'give and take' system that is mostly out of balance. Each has their story; a complex context to the mark that is left on the plate and within me. The installations are the catalyst for print works.

Where possible I have asked for, and received permission to place my plates at these sites from First Nation people.

I would like to thank:
The Ngarrinjeri people of the lower reaches of the Murray River and Kurangk (The Coorong)
for educating me and talking to me about my processes and guiding me as to where to place my plates.
Aunty Ruby from The Hattah Lakes District in Victoria for guidance and permission to place my plates near Lake Hattah.
Naminapu Maymuru White, Leon White, and Will Stubbs from Yirrkala in North East Arnhem Land for kinship, education about country, support in placing my plates at the edge of Yirrkala Creek, and for the experience of printing for some of the print artists of the Yolŋu.
The Rirratjingu Aboriginal Corporation for permission to visit their country.
Aunty Colleen Dixon, Elder of the Djiringanj People of the Yuin Nation, for conversations about the Bega River.
